Chicago Family Health Center Hires New CEO

The CEO will become the fifth to lead organization
The Chicago Family Health Center (CFHC) named Warren J. Brodine, Jr. as its fifth Chief Executive Officer in its 32 year history today. CFHC, a non-profit community health center, serves the South and Southeast side communities of Roseland, Pullman, East Side and its main location at 91st and Exchange Avenue in South Chicago. Mr. Brodine, whose family formerly resided on the East Side and in South Chicago, comes to the CFHC with a vast background in managing community health centers.
Warren is currently a director of healthcare consulting for RSM McGladrey, Inc., a leading business and accounting consulting firm, and focuses his practice on community health centers from coast to coast. “Warren brings a wide range of expertise to CFHC with knowledge of all aspects of running a community health center: from grant writing, human resources to finance, Warren has done it, and done it well.“ said Nick Valadez, chair of the search committee.
“This is an opportunity that I have sought for a long time and will be a capstone for my career, “Brodine said. “My challenge will be to help Chicago Family Health Center maintain its track record of double-digit growth, and to keep the center moving forward at a pace that meets and exceeds the needs of the communities it serves.“
Chairman of the Board Tom Munoz said of the new CEO, “There were many qualified applicants interested in the job. We believe that Warren’s background and history of success makes him a perfect fit for our center.“
Chicago Family Health Center has completed and opened its $6 million renovation of its main South Chicago building that tripled its size and capacity to see new patients. The newly completed building features a total of 30 new, larger exam rooms, additional dental operatories, expanded lab and pharmacy space, and a separate area for mental health services. Other related programs such as Developmental Disabilities, Family Case Management and Outreach have moved into the new building, bringing all Chicago Family Health Center services under one roof.
Brodine will officially take the helm of Chicago Family Health Center on September 8, 2008.
Chicago Family Health Center is a community-based, non-profit health center that provides comprehensive, accessible primary healthcare to the residents of South Chicago, Roseland and surrounding communities. In 2007, CFHC served over 19,000 patients regardless of their pay.
