Chicago Family Health Center’s Developmental Disabilities program will soon undergo reaccredidation through CARF, an international accrediting organization located in Arizona.
A two-person survey team from CARF will be visiting Chicago Family Health Center from Dec. 3, 2007 through Dec. 4, 2007.
Chicago Family Health Center’s Developmental Disabilities program will soon undergo reaccreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an international accrediting organization located in Arizona.
A two-person survey team from CARF will be visiting Chicago Family Health Center Dec. 3 and 4 to evaluate how well the CFHC Developmental Disabilities services meet international standards for quality. The survey will indicate areas in which the DD program is doing well, as well as areas needing improvement. Included in the survey will be a review of program standards, interviews with users of DD services and their families, CFHC staff and other stakeholders. Surveyors will ask questions such as:
- Are services provided in a clean and safe setting?
- Do you receive the services you need and want?
- Are you treated with respect?
- Do you take part in planning your services?
- Are you told what you need to know about your services?
Based on the results of the survey, Chicago Family may earn or continue CARF accreditation for up to three years. Accreditation is required by the Illinois Department of Human Services.
If you would like to talk with one of the CARF survey team members or want to learn more about CARF, please let one of our staff members know. You may also contact CARF directly.
